Entertainment Executive + Entrepreneur

Robert Profusek is a two-time Emmy nominated entertainment executive and entrepreneur focused on the convergence of storytelling, technology and digital media. He is currently the GM & Chief Creative Officer of BR Brands, responsible for overseeing and curating creative communications including digital/social content and engagement, marketing strategy and execution, entertainment partnerships, and industry outreach for Rose Capital, BR and its portfolio companies.
Previously, he was the Director of Business Development & Corporate Strategy and Executive Producer of Live Video for Condè Nast Entertainment with a focus on various company-wide business transactions and content deals including digital-video, live-streaming and new media formats. Additionally, Profusek served as Executive Producer for brands as diverse as Teen Vogue, Bon Appétit and GQ. While at CNE, his work has been recognized by the Emmy’s, ASME, Telly’s, Webby’s, Streamy’s, James Beard Foundation and New York Festival. He is also the Founder/Principal of Digital Harvest Capital, a digital media incubator.
From 2007-2013 he was the Founder and Executive Producer of Toy Closet Films and responsible for producing 8 feature films, 2 television pilots, 3 web-series, 65 branded collaborations, 20 shorts and 1 mobile app. Toy Closet’s content was recognized by the Academy, Sundance, Berlin, MoMA, SXSW, Comic-Con and Tribeca and was distributed broadly by HBO, Showtime, Focus Features, Magnolia, Amazon, Netflix and iTunes. Further, from 2011-2012 Profusek was a Programming Consultant for YouTube.
After receiving a BA with distinction from Cornell University, Profusek started his career as a financial analyst at Lazard Frères & Co. Pursuing his passion for entertainment, he then worked as an Associate Producer at Kaleidoscope Productions and for Oscar winning director Lee Daniels.
Profusek has an MBA from Columbia Business School and resides in New York City with his husband Tom and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Montana. He is currently developing his own slate of documentary film projects in addition to packaging various digital-first series.
He is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Producers Guild of America as well as the International Academy of Web Television. Profusek is currently the President of East 11th Street Owners Corporation as well as an officer and board member of two local non-profits.
