Emmy nominated and noted entrepreneur + creative executive Robert Profusek’s eclectic career charts a diverse professional path encompassing roles and projects across multiple industries in the entertainment and lifestyle space, integrating people and products into the convergence of storytelling, technology, digital media, and entrepreneurship.
Profusek recently served as GM and Chief Creative Officer of Bellrock Brands, a market-leader in THC and CBD products, where he curated the brand’s creative marketing strategy and operational execution through their complex merger and subsequent IPO. This role included oversight of the company’s communications, including an expansive slate of digital/social content and engagement, and acquisition and management of innovative entertainment partnerships with brands and IP ranging from adult-use confections and beverages to tinctures, transdermal patches and pet-focused balms.
To combine his marketing/branding experience with a passion for high quality creative content, in 2011 Profusek founded Digital Harvest Media, a unique development and execution stage digital incubator. Digital Harvest partners with creative entrepreneurs seeking to engage audiences through exceptional entertainment concepts. Digital Harvest’s slate of projects features a diverse collection of innovative content in various states of development, production and distribution, including wide releases for KUSAMA: INFINITY (Magnolia, Sundance), BORN FREE (Roco Films/Film Platform), QUEEN OF NEW YORK (Traverse32, Newfest) and TED & NOEL (BFI/DocSociety, Them, DocNYC). DHM is currently in production on WITHOUT A DOUBT: ED CLARK (Hauser & Wirth), ON/OFF: DAVID LA CHAPELLE (Chapelle Studios), OBSCENITY: CHUCK CLOSE (New York Times) and ABSOLUT DOCUMENTARY (Absolut/Pernod Ricard) and is in post-production on 8X10 (Leica, NYS Council for the Arts), HALLELUJAH EVERYWHERE (Black Public Media) and KETCHUP & WATERMELON (Film Independent).
Editorially, DHM have partnered on numerous branded digital series and creative executions for Condé Nast/CNE and L’Oréal as well as live-activations for Chanel and Goop; and investments in various early-phase start-ups including Omaze, Epic Games, All Star Games, Mission Barns, DailyPay, Welcome and Monument along with Spark Fund IV (Gaingels) and FinTech Fund I (Gaingels).
Additionally Digital Harvest provides strategic advisory and marketing/impact consulting services for various investment funds, consumer/media brands and non-profits including TikTok, Ernst & Young, LEK, Rose Capital and BCG (among others). DHM works alongside its wholly-owned financing entity, Digital Harvest Capital (DHC).
In 2024, Profusek Co-Founded, Produced and Creative Directed the Ram Film Society on Shelter Island at the storied Rams Head Inn. Also, he is a board member of Site-Specific Dances, an experimental non-profit collective that blends dance, design, and music to activate sites with performances featuring local community members.
Previously, Profusek was the Director of Business Development & Corporate Strategy and separately Executive Producer of live and video + alternative programming for Condè Nast Entertainment (CNE). Here, he focused on various company-wide business transactions and content deals including digital-video, live-streaming and new media formats. Additionally, Profusek served as Executive Producer for brands as diverse as Teen Vogue, Bon Appétit and GQ. While at CNE, his work was recognized by the Emmys, ASME, Tellys, Webbys, Streamys, James Beard Foundation and New York Festival.
From 2007-2013 he was the Founder and Executive Producer of Toy Closet Films and was responsible for producing eight feature films, two television pilots, three web-series, 65 branded collaborations, 20 shorts and a mobile app. Toy Closet’s content was recognized by the Student Academy Awards, Sundance, Berlin, MoMA, SXSW Click, Comic-Con and Tribeca and was distributed broadly by HBO, Showtime, Focus Features, Magnolia, Amazon, Netflix and iTunes. Further, from 2011-2012 Profusek was a Programming Consultant for YouTube.
After receiving a BA with distinction from Cornell University, Profusek started his career as a financial analyst at Lazard Frères. Pursuing his passion for entertainment, he then worked as an Associate Producer at Kaleidoscope Productions and for Oscar winning producer/director Lee Daniels.
Profusek earned his MBA from Columbia Business School. He is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Producers Guild of America. Also, he is an officer and board member of two non-profits (The Mother Lovers, Shelter Island Food Pantry, and the upcoming Shelter Island Live outdoor film screening program) and is the President of his residential co-op board. Profusek is based in New York City where he lives with his husband Tom and their Bernese Mountain Dogs, Montana and Brody.
